Frankie beverly and maze party song6/1/2023 Freeman/News4usonline – Songstress Regina Belle opening up for Maze featuring Frankie Beverly at the Greek Theatre on Saturday, Sept. As the group moved into its uptempo swing with the rhythmic Joy and Pain near the end of the show, the whole place was bumping. Then again, the entire musical depository produced by Maze and Beverly has that kind of effect. That moment during the concert was about as powerful a display of connectedness between an audience and a performer as one can find. When Beverly and Maze jumped right in on the unity anthem We Are One, you could see and feel the unison coming from the entire crowd as everyone stood up and collectively held up their hands in solidarity. The atmosphere was both festive and joyous the whole way through, a tone that is heavily reflective of the group’s musical sound. Yes, there was a lot of that going on at the Greek Theatre as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly unleashed a torrent of some of their most memorable songs that had the audience standing, grooving and singing along. There’s something about their music that makes you want to cuddle up to someone and have a great time relishing the moment. I would advise that you do not do that to yourself. If you’re planning to see Maze featuring Frankie Beverly in concert, don’t go by yourself. When I think of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, their music puts me in a chill mood every time I hit my Spotify playlist. There’s no present or coming up groups that can match the tranquil sound and peaceful vibe of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. There is not another group on the planet that brings you the soulful sensation of love songs, community unity and togetherness in their music the way that Maze featuring Frankie Beverly does. But what was given to us was a whole better than a handout sheet and a bootleg CD. Performing an hour and a half concert as they did at the Greek Theatre is simply not enough time to fully appreciate the kind of music that Maze featuring Frankie Beverly brings to you. But when you’re putting out great songs that resonate timelessly like Golden Time of Day, Joy and Pain, We Are One, Can’t Get Over You, Southern Girl, The Morning After, Happy Feelin’s, and Running Away, well there’s not too much more to do to top top those string of hits. Raw Soul became Maze in 1977, and from there they have built a cult following of soul music aficionados and fans worldwide.Īmazingly, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, recorded just eight studio albums, two live albums, and five other compilation albums. Back then the band was known as Raw Soul, which they later changed at the suggestion of legendary crooner Marvin Gaye. It is a shame given the fact that Beverly started the group back in 1970 in Philadelphia. Freeman/News4usonline – Maze featuring Frankie Beverly in concert at the Greek Theatre on Saturday, Sept. They continued to tour and play live shows to this day.© Dennis J. The group released “Can’t Stop The Love” in the spring of 1985, and in 1989 they signed with Warner Brothers Records. In 1980 they released a live album “Live In New Orleans” and continued to sell out show after show. The following three years also saw the release of three consecutively released albums, one for each year. In 1976 the group signed a record contract to Capitol Records and released their first album entitled “Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly.” The album contained the widely popular singles “Happy Feelin’s,” “While I’m Alone” and “Lady of Magic.” The album also helped them reach certified gold status as well as a huge fan base. Additionally, Gaye was the one that suggested they change the name of the group from Raw Soul to Maze. Through a chance encounter with singer Marvin Gaye who took them on the road with him on his tour, the group found a huge amount of success. The group went through a few personal changes, and relocated to San Francisco, California in 1971. A few singles were recorded, but unfortunately none of them took off the way they wanted. Formed by songwriter, record producer, singer, keyboardist and guitarist Frankie Beverly initially as Raw Soul in 1970 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Drag race all stars6/1/2023 The winner of this All Stars season was Alaska. The season featured 10 contestants competing for a coveted spot into the " Drag Race Hall of Fame", a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and a cash prize of $100,000. It premiered on the Logo network on August 25, 2016, at 8 pm. The queen who wins that lip-sync will receive the opportunity to eliminate a fellow queen. The official trailer announced a new twist to this season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: the top two queens in each challenge will have to "lip-sync for their legacy". On June 17, 2016, the cast was announced. RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 2, also known as All Stars 2, is the second season of the All Star spin-off of RuPaul's Drag Race. She’ll need to pull out some major tricks to secure the crown she’s worked so hard to win.Todrick Hall Season Chronology ← Previous Against high-calibre performers like Jaida, Monét and even Viv, I could see it being a fight. Sure, Jinkx has technically won the most lip syncs, but none of her performances has been that memorable. But of course, I also didn’t know we’d be getting a Lip Sync for the Crown tournament at that hypothetical season’s end. The question now becomes: can she win the whole season? I’ve said it before, but Jinkx was my prediction to win an all-winners season long before one was even announced, so her performance this season hasn’t surprised me. She has the most stars, has won a record five maxi-challenges (only matched by BenDeLaCreme in All Stars 3 when it comes to American seasons) and has surprisingly won $30,000 in three lip sync victories. Jinkx has performed the best this season by literally every measurable metric. Not enough of one for me to give her the win, though. We’ve seen Trinity deliver a lot of the same silhouette this season, but this was a refreshing change of pace. I like when Trinity uses her pageant background to deliver very sculptural, high-impact looks that aren’t just gowns. Where I did really enjoy Trinity this week was on the runway-her All Glowed Up look was among my favourites. I appreciate Trinity’s growth in this challenge, but the idea that she was better than Viv or Monét is pretty silly. It took a dubious win on this roast to get her there, though. She hit her threshold later than I expected, but Trinity is officially in the three-star club. In the battle between her and Jinkx Monsoon, Jinkx has emerged as the clear victor in the judges’ eyes. But as others have risen, Viv has felt secondary to the storyline. It’s a shame: the middle of this season really did feel like it was shaping Viv into a contender. The fact that she aced the roast, delivered a phenomenal runway and was still left out of the top two in favour of Trinity indicates that the show just isn’t invested in her getting to the end. I think this was Viv’s last significant chance to make the finale, honestly. The “robbed Raja” edit hasn’t stuck around, so I’m not sure the heat is there to get her to the finale. But that was a while ago, and in the intervening weeks, she’s won two challenges and secured two stars. Yes, Raja was robbed of a few early wins, and even had a moment on the main stage where she questioned just being safe once again. And unlike with Monét and Yvie, where I feel the edit suggests one clear ending, I’m really split on how this will go for our Season 3 champion. She is entirely reliant on the talent show to get her to the end. Raja’s loss this week doesn’t matter much, since she was blocked from winning a Legendary Legend Star anyway. Could they both make the finale and battle in a lip sync? If so, my bet is fully with Monét: they may have both won a lip sync this season, but Monét is a Lip Sync Assassin for a reason. The idea that we’ll leave this season without some kind of face-off between Monét and Trinity is unfathomable to me. What I do wonder, however, is when we’re going to get the “tiebreak” moment for our twinners. Her edit has been the diametric opposite of Yvie’s: lots of main character focus even when her challenge performances did not merit that much storyline. I would place good money on Monét making it to the finale. If she does make it there, though, look out: despite her losing her one and only lip sync this season, I do think she’s the best lip sync performer when considering her overall body of work on Drag Race. More than anyone, Yvie has felt like a secondary character this season, and thus it would be strange to see her as part of the final four. So I could see her surprising and snagging her third Legendary Legend Star … but I’ll admit the edit is not pointing that way. A talent show is an interesting final challenge for Yvie-we’ve never seen her do one before, and she’s certainly someone who has a lot of tricks to show off. |
